From Waste to Architect-ure

Inspired by my transformative trip to Bali, where the enchanting beauty of Ubud sharply contrasted with the stark reality of plastic pollution, I felt a profound urgency to address the environmental crisis that plagues our planet. The vibrant landscapes, once pristine, were marred by the excessive waste that littered the streets, igniting a passion within me to reimagine how discarded materials could be repurposed and celebrated rather than discarded.

This project took shape through a meaningful partnership with Wedoo, a pioneering company dedicated to recycling street-collected plastic into innovative products and architectural elements. Together, we embarked on a creative journey that sought to unveil the hidden potential within what many would consider waste. It was a testament to the idea that even the most neglected materials can be transformed into something both functional and aesthetically striking, inviting a new narrative that champions sustainability.

Our exploration began with a careful examination of plastic’s materiality, identifying the varied textures and colors that could be harnessed to create captivating designs.
